Mahaica man killed in hit and run

Forty-eight-year-old Deodat Ram of of Helena No.2, Mahaica is now dead after he was struck down by a motorcycle on Saturday evening.

Police in a release stated that the fatal accident occurred at approximately 23:40hrs on Saturday evening.

Investigators suspect that Ram was struck down by a motor cyclist while he was walking along the roadway.

While Ram was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital, the the motor cycle was found abandoned at the scene without the registration number.

Investigations are ongoing.
