Police searching for man who stabbed lover to death

A Corenytne man is Guyana’s first reported murder victim for 2016, according to the police force.

The incident occurred at 12:10 Friday, January 1, 2016.

He is 24-year old Asif Hafeez of Crabwood Creek.

Investigators were told that he another man were consuming alcoholic beverages when an argument ensued between them and Hafeez was stabbed to his neck.

He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Skeldon Hospital.

Police said they were still searching for the suspect.
