A man on Monday issued a desperate appeal to his wife to return home or send back his two-year old son, almost nine days after she packed up and left their home at Middlesex, West Coast Demerara.Rayon Da Costa, who is a carpenter-contractor at Bartica, is baffled that his wife, 25-year old Chitra Da Costa, packed up and left their home with her two children June 26, 2015.
He said that he had been supporting his family financially by working very hard, but now that the work has slowed down in Bartica and he had hinted that he would be at home regularly she opted to pack up her personal belongings and leave for an unknown location.
“If I could get my son I would be happy. If she wants to live that kind of life the children will lose. She doesn’t have any interest in them,” said Da Costa whose son’s name is Aaron Rayon Da Costa.
The man denied telling his wife during a phone call or by text that she could go her way if she wanted.
At the same time, he claimed that his wife’s life-style has changed and apparently she had rekindled with the father of her six-year old daughter, Reymeena Singh.
The man said he has heard from his wife briefly by telephone and she is adamant that she would not be returning home because she wants to be free. On the contrary, Da Costa says he does not monitor his wife’s whereabouts or impose any restrictions.
The man, who has been married to Chitra for five years now, said cares for his stepdaughter in the same way he does for his son.
