A wood exporter was Friday shot and robbed of GUY$2 million by armed bandits at North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, police said.
The victim has been identified as 67-year old Reginald Manbodh, a one-time executive member of the Forest Producers Association.
Investigators said that about 12:45 PM, he had just returned home in his motor vehicle at North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, when he was attacked and held at gunpoint by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, and who had driven up on a motor cycle.
“Manbodh was shot to his arms and left foot by the armed man who took away an envelope with $2M, and the perpetrators then escaped on the motor cycle,” police said.
Manbodh has been admitted to hospital. Investigations are in progress.
