The Lower Court on Tuesday ruled that there was sufficient evidence for three young men to be trialed by a High Court for the murder of an Electrical Engineer who was employed by the Beharry Group of Companies.Chief Magistrate, Priya Sewnarine decided at the end of a Preliminary Inquiry that 21-year old Glenroy Griffith, 26year old Jarrell Ward and 26-year old Julian Mack to be trialed by a judge and jury for the murder of 23-year old Abdool Saleem Aziz.
Aziz was shot dead on October 19, 2014 near his home at 33 Delhi Street, Prashad Nagar after the trio allegedly robbed him of an undisclosed sum of cash.
He had just exited a car and was about to enter his yard when several men on bicycles attacked him.
The Chief Magistrate made her decision after listening to evidence by 24 witnesses who were led Police Prosecutor Bharat Mangru.
