Minister of Governance Raphael Trotman is now tasked with the responsibility of managing the country’s natural resources and is scheduled to meet with all the agencies under his purview in the coming weeks. The announcement was made on Friday May 29.Trotman who is the Governance Minister within the Ministry of the Presidency took up his appointment earlier in the week; the noticed stated and also took up his office located at Upper Brickdam. The notice stated too that Trotman has already met his staff.
“Apart from responsibility for governance issues, the Minister is also responsible for oversight of the management of the nation’s natural resources which form part of the patrimony of Guyana.”
“It was noted that the Minister has commenced scheduled familiarization meetings and visits to the several agencies under his portfolio. During the coming weeks the Minister also intends to meet with international, donor, private sector organizations, other development partners and stakeholders of the governance and natural resources sectors.”
It was stated further that World Environment Day will be observed in Guyana and around the World on June 5, 2015. “It is expected that the Minister will be out and about supporting the efforts at restoring the image of Georgetown our “Garden City” and that of communities outside of the city.”
