The body of a Maintenance Engineer at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) was Sunday afternoon removed from a reservoir near the airport, shortly after he allegedly sexually molested a female.
He has been identified as Christopher Andrew Jacobs, 26, of Hauraruni Village, Linden Soesdyke Highway.
A senior police officer said that investigations so far revealed that he allegedly had a disagreement with a girl because he allegedly touched her inappropriately.
He reportedly was involved in an assault and a resulting altercation at 11 PM Friday, 22 November in the Works Maintenance area. His body was found at about 1:30 PM Sunday after repeated efforts to locate him elsewhere failed.
The female reported the matter to the police and, in an intoxicated state, he hid in a tank that contained six feet of water.
Police said the unmarried man had no marks of violence and so far they believed he died by drowning.
At the time of the incident, Jacobs was off-duty.
