Police were Saturday probing the circumstances that led to the shooting of a deportee in War Lock, East Ruimveldt late Friday night, a senior police officer said.
Sources said 19-year Kellon Hinds of 465 East La Penitence was shot to his left side abdomen.
A high-ranking police officer said that “on the surface” investigators do not believe Hinds’ claim that he was shot and robbed of a gold chain and gold band before the attackers escaped.
Another account is that the shooting stemmed from an argument at a get-together.
The incident occurred about 10 PM. Hinds was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he was admitted in a stable condition.
Hinds was recently deported from French Guiana.
