An elderly Corentyne businessman and one of his employees were injured when a bandit opened fire on them and grabbed a bag containing GUY$400,000.
The injured are 72-years old Bannsingh Guyadin of Maida, Corentyne and 28-years old Kissoondat Madhoo of Bush Lot, Corentyne.
Police said they were shot and injured to their feet during the robbery Sunday about 7 PM.
“The victims had just returned in a motor vehicle to Bannsingh Guyandin’s residence when they were attacked by two men, one of whom was armed with a shotgun.
The armed man discharged rounds hitting Guyadin to his left foot and Madhoo to both feet,” police said in a statement.
Guyadin and Madhoo were admitted to the New Amsterdam Hospital.
