A Patient Care Assistant at the Linden Hospital Complex (LHC) early Friday morning allegedly attempted to kill her children with insulin but when she failed to purchase poison to commit suicide.
Multiple sources confirmed that Gail De Jonge was in custody at a police station in Linden. Sources believed that the woman decided on that course of action after a Court ruled that she must allow one of the children to be with his father at weekends.
The sources said that after she injected the children with insulin and did not obtain the poison to commit suicide, she went to the hospital and told a Sister who rescued the children from their home which is near the LHC.
The children were taken to the hospital where they were revived.
