The body of a Pegasus Hotel taxi driver was early Saturday morning found on a road in South Ruimveldt, police said.

He has been indentified as Rudrinauth Winston Jeeboo of Delph Avenue, Campbelville.

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) said Jeeboā€™s body was found about 7 AM on the roadway at Cane View Avenue.

He sustained head injuries but there was no external bleeding. His recently purchased Toyota Allion car, HC 3521, was found ā€œintactā€ at the back of Guyhoc Gardens. Investigators confirmed his identity by his driverā€™s licence which was found in one of his pockets.

Sources said one of his colleague taxi drivers recalled last seeing him at the Kingston-based hotel about 1 AM.

Repeated calls to his mobile phone were unsuccessful as it was ā€œeither turned off or out of the serving areaā€, prompting family members to begin making enquiries only to be greeted with the tragic news.
