The Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) on Monday commenced the motor vehicle registration “SS” series, an indication that more persons now own their own vehicle and that there have been some changes across
registration categories, such as from ‘H’ to ‘P’.
The ‘RR’ Series came to an end on Friday November 22, 2013.
“This is historic, as it is the shortest time period for the completion of a series in the ‘P’ (private) category.
Prior to the ‘RR’ Series, the ‘PP’ Series officially commenced on December 7, 2011 and ended on the same date in 2012.
Motor vehicle owners are reminded that the Motor Vehicle Licence is valid until the Registration anniversary. Hence such licence must be renewed every year on or before the anniversary of the vehicle’s registration.
Newly registered vehicles or vehicles that underwent changes, example, change of colour, must be physically examined by the Licence Revenue Department of the GRA. All registration and change of motor vehicle registration are being done at GRA’s Headquarters, 200-201 Camp Street, South Cummingsburg,
between Middle and Quamina Streets, while vehicles will be examined at the former Smyth Street Office.
