The owner of South Central Hotel was strangled to death, according to an autopsy performed on Friday.
The body of 59-year old Joseph Alexander Jagdeo was found Thursday under a bed in one of the hotel’s rooms by an employee.
Police said Government Pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh found that Jagdeo died as a result of asphyxia due to manual strangulation. His wife said his hands and mouth and nose were tied with cloth.
Police have questioned a number of employees and occupants of the ‘short-time’ facility.
The keys to Room 10 in which his body was found were on the bed, prompting a theory that the perpetrators locked the door and threw the keys over the wall.
He had not been seen for several hours by employees and ‘permanent’ occupants of the hotel.
