A Guyanese man on Friday appeared in court for severely beating his wife after he returned from vacation in Jamaica and found her having sex with another man in their home.
However, they declined to offer evidence against each other and the matter was dismissed. He also committed to replacing two shirts and two cell phones that he had purchased in Jamaica for his wife by August 23.
Gary Beckles,24, was accused of assaulting his reputed wife, 25-year old Sherona Noble, to cause her grievous bodily harm on August 7 at their Lombard Street home.
The couple held each other and exited the court that was presided over by City Magistrate, Ann Mc Lennan.
Facts of the case are that Beckles entered his home and heard moans inside the bedroom. He then entered and found her engaging in sexual intercourse with Leroy Malcom,43, of Sussex Street. Beckles grabbed his wife by her hair and pulled her off the man. He slapped her and cuffed her several times to her abdomen.
Malcolm also pleaded not guilty to assaulting Beckles to cause him actual bodily harm.
Malcolm emerged from hiding under the bed and lashed Beckles several times with a baseball bat.
