A lone gunman on Thursday grabbed GUY$16.9 million dollars from two accounts clerks and guns and bullets from two guards while they were on their way to a city bank for Toolsie Persaud Limited , police said.
Investigators said the incident occurred around 1 PM when the vehicle that the four men were inside stopped at Sussex and Charles Streets, Charlestown.
The TPL Accounts Clerks have been identified as Jonathan Dookie, 21, and Dewan Chand, 57, of Toolsie Persaud Ltd.
Police did not say whether the guards were employed by TPL or a private security company.
Investigators were told that the man held the quartet at gunpoint while taking away the cash, one .32 Taurus Pistol and one .32 Taurus Revolver and ammunition from the two security guards.
The perpetrator, according to police, escaped in a waiting motor car.Investigations are in progress.
