The executive of the Region Nine Athletics Sports Club.

The Region Nine Athletics Sports Club now has a new executive which hopes to promote elite athletes for national and international meets.

The sports club was formed last year by its founder, Sugrim Singh, after visiting Rupununi last year and seeing the potential of athletes there.

Rupununi elite athlete Samuel Caitan was one of the many athletes who gained sponsorship from the Region 9 Athletics Sports Club under Singh’s chairmanship.

The following persons were elected to serve: Chairman Mr. Kenrick Lewis; Vice Chairman Mr. John Alfred; Secretary Mr. Dave Jeffery; Treasurer Mrs. Joyce Lawrence and Asst Secretary/Treasurer Mr. Mark Rodrigues.

In his charge Mr. Sugrim Singh urged the elected persons to continue working for the development and enhancement of elite athletes in Region 9.
