11 arrested in connection with assault rifle

Eleven men have been arrested in connection with the discovery of an AK-47 assault rifle and 12 rounds in a motor lorry at Buckhall, police said.

The rifle and ammunition were found during a search of the vehicle around 11:10  Tuesday night by police at the checkpoint at 70 kilometres.

Those  arrested are assisting with the investigations.
