A Trans Guyana Airways (TGA) plane Thursday morning ran off the Mabaruma airstrip on landing, sources said.
No one was injured.
The plane bears registration marking 8R-GCC.
The cause of the incident was not immediately known, but one theory was that it was due to heavy winds.
Emergency responders, including fire fighters, rushed to the scene as a precaution but no smoke was seen.
