The incident occurred on Sunday, October 26 at about 9:20 p.m.

Preliminary information indicates that the 33-year-old butcher of Meten-Meer-Zorg was injured during an altercation with a 32-year-old carpenter from the same community.

A  police patrol responded promptly, arrested the suspect, and escorted both individuals to the Leonora Police Station, the Guyana Police Force said in a statement.
