The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) has approved the We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) and Forward Guyana Movement (FGM) to contest the September 1, 2025 general and regional elections, a well-placed sourced said Thursday.
WIN, FGM and three other parties’ nominations contained defects and the parties were informed.
WIN is led by city businessman Azruddin Mohamed and FGM’s presidential candidate is Amanza Walton-Desir.
Only the nominations for the People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPPC) and A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) had no issues, sourced said.
GECOM will this weekend formally announce all the parties that have been given the green light to contest the polls.
GECOM will then proceed to arrange for the printing of ballots in Canada by Canadian Bank Note.
