Former President of the Guyana Teachers’ Union (GTU), Colwyn King was Thursday found guilty of raping a girl who was under 16 years old at the time.
The jury unanimously found the educator guilty of the offence.
He would be sentenced to prison on July 17 by High Court Judge Simone Morris.
The Prosecution’s case was that King raped the girl twice in April 2021.
The Prosecutors in that case were attorneys-at-law Muntaz Ali and Geneva Wills, and King’s lawyer was Tonza Sarrabo.
