Suspected juveniles rob restaurateur

Two females are among four persons believed to be juveniles who allegedly assaulted and robbed a restaurateur at his D’Urban Backlands, Georgetown restaurant on Wednesday evening, police said.

Sixty-year old Zhao Pe Lizhan complained that at about 6:55 p.m. at WF Fast Food Restaurant, he was robbed of GY$70,000.

He told investigators that he was behind the counter when he observed the suspects walk into the building and approach him.

He said a male and female held onto his neck and hand while the other male and female went into the cash register, which was by the counter and took out the day’s sales. They then made good their escape west into D’Urban Backlands.

Police said the scene was processed, and CCTV camera footage is being reviewed by detectives.
