Former Prosecutor of the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU), Oswald Massiah was early Wednesday morning found dead in a car at Parika.
Divisional Commander for West Demerara, Assistant Commissioner Leslie James confirmed that the body of Massiah was discovered in a car at the Parika Ferry Stelling and taken to a nearby hospital.
Sources said Massiah had been ill for quite a while. There were no marks of violence see on his body.
Massiah recently retired, after serving several years as special prosecutor at the country’s leading anti-drug agency.
He was also a former police prosecutor before moving on to CANU.
