Policeman accused of raping 14-year old girl

A police constable has been charged with raping a 14-year old girl at a city hotel.

Twenty-five year old Ganesh Rajcoomar of Grove, East Bank Demerara was Wednesday granted GYD$20,000 bail by Chief Magistrate, Ann Mc Lennan.

He has to return to court on February 24, 2016.

The Court was told that in October 2015, he sexually penetrated a 14-year old girl.

The  cop, who was not represented by a lawyer, was attached to an East Bank Demerara police station.
