The ex-wife of a self-confessed drug trafficker was among four persons in custody in connection with the seizure of 100 pounds of marijuana from a house at the West Bank Demerara.
Head of the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU), James Singh said investigators believed that the drug was being prepared to be sent overseas .
The house where the marijuana was seized Thursday night is located in a gated community at Aracari/ Versailles.
Singh said when CANU agents swooped down on the house, it was evident that the marijuana was being compressed.
The self-confessed drug trafficker, whose ex wife was arrested, is currently before the court on trial for the alleged possession of cocaine for the purpose trafficking.
