A drunken policeman was Sunday night injured in a road accident that left a 10-year old boy dead, the Guyana Police Force said in a statement.
Investigations so far have revealed that Devon Sealey was riding a bicycle along the roadway when he was struck down by a motor vehicle that was driven by a Police Constable, who was later found to be over the limit in terms of the consumption of alcohol.
Police said the accident occurred at about 9:15 PM Sunday May 15, 2016, on the Sisters Public Road, West Bank Demerara
After the motor vehicle struck down Sealey, it collided with a parked vehicle and turned turtle. Sealey was pronounced dead at the West Demerara Regional Hospital.
The driver received injuries and has been admitted to hospital.
