A serial robber at Rose Hall, Corentyne was arrested shortly after grabbing a sum of money from from a money-changer and his brother.
The Guyana Police Force said the suspect who had carried out the robbery has been identified as one of three men who had committed an armed robbery on a poultry farmer at Rose Hall on April 30, 2016, during which Samuel Fernandes was shot and injured.
In the latest incident, investigators were told that at about 8:30 AM Monday 09, 2016, money changer Kumar Sookraj, 22 years, and his brother Parsram Sookraj 17 years, of Rose Hall, Corentyne, were on the roadway at Rose Hall when they were held up at gunpoint and robbed of a sum of foreign and local currency by a man who escaped into Rosehall.
Police said they responded to the report and information received led to the subsequent arrest of the suspect in a house at RoseHhall. An unlicensed .32 revolver with 6 rounds was found in his possession.
Further inquires led to the arrest of an accomplice. Both men are in police custody assisting with the investigations.
