A phone credit vendor was Boxing Night shot several times near the Vendors’ Arcade, Georgetown.
Police identified the injured man as 29-year old Keron Herbert. The eyewitness said the incident did not appear to be a robbery but more like a planned hit.
Police said Herbert was shot to his buttocks. The lone gunman, who is of East Indian descent, escaped in a waiting white Premio car. No one has been arrested.
The vendor was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
The eyewitness said the vendor and another man were near a tarpaulin at about 8:15 PM when the man whipped out a gun and opened fire.
