Rohee, Top Cop squabble over Police training

In the latest exchange of words between Top Cop Seelal Persaud and Former Home Affairs Minister Clement Rohee, the Minister is denying claims that he ducked applications for police ranks to do overseas training.

At a press conference on Monday morning, Rohee laid the blame for officers not receiving training at the feet of the police force.

In fact he stated that at some times the police force would just sit on the request for officers to be trained. Other times tardiness would soil the entire process.

Rohee maintained that at no time he had any direct hand in the situation since public servants for overseas training would have to receive cabinet approval.

He went on to state that under his Ministry, the Permanent Secretary was the person that would deal directly with such matters.

Seelall had in recent report made the scathing allegation against the former Minister.

This is not the first time that the two have been at each others throats in recent months.

When asked what sort of relationship he shared with the Top Cop, Rohee declined to comment stating that such will be revealed in a memoir.
