Attorney-at-Law Keisha Chase was Thursday arraigned on a charge of causing death by dangerous driving and she was granted GYD$250,000 bail.

Chase was ordered to return to court on March 30, 2016.

She is charged with causing the death of Julian Leitch of Lama Avenue, Bel Air Park on November 10, 2015 on Duncan Street Campbelville.

Police blocked reporters from entering the courtroom to cover the case that was called befoe Chief Magistrate, Ann Mc Lennan. Unlike other persons who are required to remain in police custody downstairs until the bail is posted, Chase remained in the courtroom until the money was paid before she exited the courtroom and compound via the Brickdam gate and boarded a waiting car. She hid herself from the media with a blue umbrella.

The prosecution’s facts are that Leitch was attempting to cross the road when he was struck by the car, PLL 1881, driven by Chase.

He was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where he succumbed to his injuries.
