One shot dead, another injured in minibus on Demerara Harbour Bridge

An argument over the need to close a minibus window because of rain Boxing Night left one person dead and another injured, police said.

The incident occurred in the vehicle on the Demerara Harbour Bridge at about 6:30 Saturday evening, December 26, 2015.

The dead man was yet to be identified. The injured man is 28 years old Rudolph Williams of the West Coast Demerara.

Police were told that the suspect, who is yet to be caught, had an argument with two passengers over the need to close the bus window because the rain was blowing in.

The man shot the now dead passenger to his neck and Williams to his back.

Investigators were reviewing video surveillance footage at the Demerara Harbour Bridge as part of efforts to capture the perpetrator.
