Businesswoman robbed, beaten

A businesswoman was early Saturday morning beaten several times to her face and head with a handgun during a robbery just outside her home at Better Hope, East Coast Demerara.

She is 36 years old Novaha Boodhoo of 88 Pulwari Street, Better Hope, East Coast Demerara. She told police that one of the bandits beat her with the firearm after she prevented them from stealing her car. “The men then attempted steal her vehicle but she threw away the car keys and made an alarm, at that stage one of the men then struck the victim several times about her head and face with a firearm after which they made good their escape,” police said in a statement.

The incident occurred at about 12:45 AM, October 24, 2015. She told police that three men two of whom were armed with handguns robbed and injured her.

Investigations reveal that the victim was about to enter her yard in her motor car PLL4164 when she was confronted by the men who relieved her of $100,000.00GYD and three cell phones.

No arrest was made and the investigations are in progress.
