Fire destroys West Coast Berbice house

Fire of unknown origin early Monday morning destroyed an unoccupied house at Bush Lot, West Coast Berbice.

Located on School Street, the wooden house was once owned by a man well-known as ‘Cow Head’. Following his death, his children took over ownership of the property.

Two neighboring houses were scorched slightly.

A resident ruled out the three bedroom house being set alight by drug addicts because no one lived there at the time.

One theory was that the fire could have been of electrical origin because earlier in the day there was blackout and the fire began after power was restored to the area.
