Man shot to head outside Palm Court

A man was early Sunday morning shot to his head on Main Street, Georgetown in the vicinity of Palm Court following a traffic accident, police said.

Police identified the injured man as Nigel Isaacs. He sustained a gunshot wound to the back of his head and has been admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation in a critical condition.;

The alleged shooter, Andrew “Zipper” Gomes of Third Street, Alberttown, Georgetown was arrested and his licensed firearm seized.

The police source related that Gomes was in Palm Court when someone told him that his parked vehicle was struck by a car. About 1 AM, he exited the entertainment spot, allegedly whipped out his handgun and fired at least two shots.

One of them struck Isaacs who was a Palm Court patron.

The road accident occurred when a hire car that was being driven southwards on Main Street struck a parked car. The hire car driver, Rawle Agard, of Garnett Street, Newtown Kitty, Georgetown has been arrested to assist police with their investigations.
