Three die in horrific West Coast Berbice accident

Three persons were killed and several others injured early Monday morning when the vehicle they were in was involved in an accident on the West Coast Berbice, police sources said.

They are 22-years old Tommy Thomas of John Street, New Amsterdam and 19-year old Jevon Gregory of Stanleytown, New Amsterdam. One of the dead persons has not yet been identified.

Two seriously injured were transferred to the Georgetown Hospital and four others were taken to the New Amsterdam.

They were pronounced dead on arrival at the Fort Wellington Hospital, West Coast Berbice.

Investigators said a Raum, with a seating capacity for five persons, was carrying nine when the it slammed into a truck shortly after 1 AM Monday at Golden Grove, West Coast Berbice.

Police said the car was speeding and the occupants consumed alcoholic beverages.
