I’ve felt that this is a chaotic situation…We need to bring those things together and we ask a lot of Haiti and I am asking a lot of ourselves…We need to do better in how we partner with Haiti and we need to look at ourselves and our assistance programmes and our strategies and our plans,” Forde told the participants.

He urged United Nations (UN) organizations, development banks, bilateral aid providers and non-governmental organizations to “clean up our management procedures and cooperation strategies.”

The FAO official agreed with top Haitian officials that that French Creole-speaking Caribbean islands that that country is open for business, after he heard a number of presentations about  increased domestic food production, poverty reduction and plans to increase investments in family farming and agri-business.
