A female soldier was Tuesday committed to stand trial in the High Court for the alleged murder of woman in Agricola earlier this year.

Chief Magistrate, Priya Sewnarine-Beharry ruled that there was sufficient evidence for 22-year old Private Abiola Jacobs 55 Evans-Phillips Park, Agricola, Greater Georgetown to face a murder trial by a judge and jury.

Jacobs is accused of the murder of Donna Taylor on January 31, 2014 at Agricola Public Road, Greater Georgetown.

At least 13 prosecution witnesses testified in the case against Jacobs.

Taylor’s body was found in her backyard with her throat slit and hands tied behind her. An autopsy revealed that she died of shock and haemorrhage.
