An East Bank Demerara man was Monday committed to stand trial before a High Court judge and jury for the alleged murder of his brother earlier this year.

42-year old Rohan “Jankoo” Teekaram of Kane Ville, East Bank Demerara is accused of murdering his brother, 40-year old Dayaram Teekaram. His body was found in his yard with several chop wounds.

The incident allegedly occurred between April 20 and 22, 2014.

Janko’s trial is expected to begin during the October, 2014 Demerara Assizes.
