Bandits Thursday afternoon ordered the staff and customers at store on the West Coast Berbice to lie on the floor before carting off with an undisclosed amount of cash from the Money Gram agency, police said.

Investigators arrested four men and detained a car at Number 6 Village, West Coast Berbice but none of the stolen cash was found.

The robbery occurred at Baljit’s Enterprise, Bush Lot, West Coast Berbice about 1 PM.  A female said that on entering the store, she saw several persons lying on the floor and she quickly left.

A senior police officer told Demerara Waves Online News that one of the men was armed with a handgun and the other a shotgun.

He said no shots were fired during the ordeal, but the cashier was held at gunpoint and ordered to hand over the cash.

The men then left in a waiting motorcar.
