Policeman, DDL employee killed in Emancipation Night bike collision

A policeman and a Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) security guard were Emancipation Night- Friday, August 1- killed in a collision between the motorcycles they were riding on the Diamond Main Access Road.

They are Constable Andrew Forde, who was assigned to Impact Base, Brickdam Police Station, and Stanley Adams of DDL. Forde lived at 194 Section C, Block Y, Diamond, and Adams resided at 480 Grove Housing Scheme.

Eyewitnesses said the accident occurred about 10 PM  in the vicinity of Second Avenue and Diamond Main Access Road.

The policeman, who was riding east, allegedly overtook a vehicle and collided with Adams who was going in the opposite direction.

They were rushed to the Diamond Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.
