Two days after he allegedly fired a single shot at the People’s National Congress Reform’s 18th Biennial Congress, Mr. Linden Primo was arrested while attempting to leave Guyana.
He was booked to leave on a flight to the United States.
A senior police officer confirmed the arrest at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport. The officer said the police were not yet able to determine if the man was a licensed firearm holder.
He said Primo was being questioned by investigators.
PNCR Leader, David Granger and party Chairman, Basil Williams have said that the shooter was a member of the Returning Officer’s security team.
The shooting incident occurred at 12:11 PM Sunday when there was commotion by delegates who were about to cast votes to elect a party leader and other office-bearers.
