A prisoner, caught with marijuana in his anus at the Georgetown Prison, was Tuesday convicted for being in possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

Forty-five year old Roger Samuels was fined GUY$10,000 and jailed for 48 months by City Magistrate, Judy Latchman. That sentence would begin at the end of the remaining 14 months of a four-year jail term for simple larceny.

He said he pleaded guilty to the offence because he did not want a long story. Before, he claimed that the police were planning for him and a medic pushed her hand up his “bambsee”.

Particulars of the offence are that on June 27 at Camp Street, Georgetown he had 68 gramms of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

Police Prosecutor, Joel Ricknauth said that Samuels and other prisoners were returning from the Police Sports Club when he was seen walking in an unusual manner and he was taken to the medic for his anus to be examined.

After a white plastic bag was extracted and he was informed of the offence, according to the prosecutor, Samuels remarked “I have to hustle too.”

The father of three asked the court for mercy because he has to buy everything he needs in prison.
