The Barrows house on fire

The home of former Peoples National Congress (PNC) parliamentarian, Dunstan Barrow, at Richmond Hill, Linden was Friday night  razed by fire, a family member confirmed.

His son, Dunstani Barrow, told Demerara Waves Online News that based on an eyewitness account, he believed that the fire was the work of an arsonist.

The younger Barrow related that an eyewitness chased a man  shortly after seeing smoke emanating from the wooden and concrete structure about 9:45 PM.

None of the Barrows lived there as they have all moved to Georgetown.

The younger Barrow said he, his parents and their grandchildren were having a get-together when they received the shocking news from neighbours.

The elder Barrow, who is a former bauxite executive, was earlier this year appointed Chairman of the Linden Enterprise Network (LEN), the successor to the Linden Economic Advancement Programme (LEAP).
