Guysuco employee stabbed during football at BV

An employee of the Guyana Sugar Corporation (GPHC) was stabbed to his head and another man chopped about his body during an altercation at a football match at their home village Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara.

Sustaining a stab wound to his head was 24-year old David Mc Almont. He is a welder at the LBI Estate.

William Hendricks’ right arm has been almost severed, in addition to other multiple chop wounds.  He was rushed into emergency surgery shortly after 8 PM.

One account was that the men were playing football when an argument ensued and eventually escalated into the wounding.
