Even as popular radio Disc Jockey, Curtis “Casual” Armstrong was recovering from emergency surgery, police were up to late Monday yet to arrest anyone in connection with the shooting.

Police sources said they were yet identify and arrest the shooter and his accomplice with whom the DJ had an altercation.

Sources at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) said the fat in his abdomen helped to prevent damage to his vital organs by the .380 bullets.

He was struck to his side, abdomen and left shoulder when one of two men with whom he had an argument and scuffle opened fire. The scuffle and shooting occurred shortly before 4 AM on the parking lot of the Guyana National Stadium, Providence, East Bank Demerara.

Investigators said the incident stemmed from an argument earlier in the VIP box over ice. The disagreement later boiled over when the men exited. A scuffle ensued and one of the men fired several shots, hitting Casual and an occupant of his car, 30-year old Shawn Hinds.

Hinds was later removed from the GPHC by a female and taken to a private hospital for treatment.
