Numerous witnesses lined up for PI into female taxi driver’s murder

The murder Preliminary Inquiry (PI) into the death of female taxi driver on Soesdyke-Linden Highway will commenced on May 27.

Police Corporal Bharat Mangru indicated to the Court that all investigations are completed and there are 15 witnesses to testify in the matter.

Twenty-three-year-old  sand pit labourer Sylvester “Rambo” Bristol  made his first appearance before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry in Court on February 18, last.

Details of the charge said between February 15 and 16 at Soedyke, East Bank of Demerara he murdered Savitri “Mia” Parma of Lot 4 Soesdyke Public Road.

Based on information provided by Parma’s husband, she had apparently called him on his phone about 8:45 Sunday night and informed that she had just dropped of someone at Buddy’s Farm and someone else wanted to go to the loam pit. She had told him that the person looked like someone who worked at the pit.

Demerara Waves Online News was told that the suspect of Yarrowkabra was caught a short distance away from the crime scene and was badly beaten by citizens.

Parma’s body was found outside her car on the sand.

Members of a search-party also found her eight-year old son, who had slept through the fatal ordeal of his mother, in the back seat of the car. He was unhurt.
