A man was shot Tuesday morning after he went to assist another person who was robbed of a gold chain near ‘Prado Ville One’, Ogle, East Coast Demerara.

Police said 21-year old Earl Deokarran of Ogle Front was shot in hip about 9:15 AM. Investigators said he and 19-year old Travis Edwards were attacked by the gunman while crossing a bridge at Ogle.

“The perpetrator took away a gold chain from Travis Edwards and shot and injured Earl Deokarran to his groin as he went to Edwards’ assistance,” said police force spokesman, Ivelaw Whittaker.

Deokarran has been admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation as the investigations continue.
