A supervisor of a fast-food business enterprise on Water Street was Saturday morning shot and seriously injured during an attempted robbery.

Sources said 28-year old Jason Fraser was shot to his lower abdomen by the gunman who entered Shaker’s just next door to Giftland OfficeMax. he shooting occurred about10.30 AM.

An official of the enterprise stressed that the bandit did not enter the customer’s section. He entered the office through a back entrance and demanded money. However, according to the sources, he got nothing.

During the less than five-minute episode, two other employees pushed him out of the office. Before fleeing through the back entrance, he fired one shot that struck Fraser.

The owners of the store said staffers were cooperating with police in determining images captured by a surveillance camera.

When Demerara Waves Online News (www.demwaves.com ) visited the scene, Shakers’ door was closed and grilled along with a notice apologising for the inconvenience caused by the closure.
