Security guard killed at Lucky Dollar’s Rose Hall branch

A security guard at the Lucky Dollar Store at Rose Hall, Corentyne was killed and several items stolen from the entity.

“The building was broken into and several articles suspected to have been taken away which are yet to be ascertained,” police said in a statement. Demerara Waves was told that the stolen items included two Tablets and GUY$290,000 cash.

The incident occurred about 2 O’clock Saturday morning. The body of  the guard, 55-year old Chandrabhan Persaud of Whim, Corentyne, was found at his work site.

“His hands and feet were tied and his mouth gagged,” said the police force.

Meanwhile, police found one 9 MM Luger pistol with four rounds in possession of man who was on De Abreu Street, Newtown.

The find was made by a mobile patrol about 10 O’clock Saturday morning.
