Guyanese wanted for cocaine-in-milk bust involving American

Customs Anti Narcotics Unit (CANU) agents have seized cocaine in milk powder from a foreigner and they want a Guyanese man to assist in the probe.

Head of CANU, James Singh said Mark Sauers was wanted in connection with the bust on Friday, January 17 at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA).

He was born on November 15, 1989 and his given addresses are Kwakwani, Berbice and the East Coast Demerara villages of Beterverwagting (BV) and Mon Repos.

Sources said a 28-year old American man was arrested at the CJIA while he was an outgoing passenger.

The undisclosed amount of cocaine was stashed in milk powder.

Meanwhile, in a separate bust the Guyana Police Force reported that its Narcotics Branch on Friday, January 17 at 12:35 PM arrested a Guyanese man who was an outgoing passenger on a flight to Canada, after 4 kilograms 90 grams of cocaine were found in his false bottom suitcase.

The man is in police custody and charges will be made shortly.
